Overview

In this role you will perform structural analysis to support the design and validation of aerospace structures, working across metallic and composite materials. You will collaborate with design, testing and manufacturing teams on the full product lifecycle, from concept to substantiation and testing. Your analyses will influence performance and ensure compliance with industry methods. Responsibilities

  • Carry out static strength analysis of metallic and composite aerospace structures
  • Build, run and post-process FEA models using Nastran, ANSYS and Altair
  • Analyze components, sub-assemblies and full-airframe load cases
  • Produce high-quality stress reports and structural substantiation
  • Support structural testing, including predictions and correlation of test results
  • Apply industry-standard methods (Roark, Niu, Bruhn, MMPDS, ESDU)
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test teams, customers and suppliers
  • Plan and manage workload, estimates and delivery timescales

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant structural analysis experience
  • Experience or familiarity with FEA and CAD tools
  • Working knowledge of metallic and composite materials
  • Understanding of fatigue and damage tolerance principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
