Senior / Electrical Building Services Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design and deliver electrical building services for diverse projects within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll contribute from concept to completion, collaborating with clients, architects and engineers to create sustainable, low‑carbon solutions. The position offers exposure to major schemes and opportunities to grow technical leadership and Chartership. A strong BIM and digital design focus underpins this role.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, communications)
• Produce technical calculations, specifications and reports
• Work in BIM environments using Revit and other digital design tools
• Support project delivery from feasibility through construction
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams for integrated design
• Attend client and design team meetings
• Contribute to sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions
• Support development of digital engineering and design processes
• Senior level: provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and assist with project management

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in a building services consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of electrical building services design principles
• Experience designing lighting, power, fire alarms, and communications infrastructure
• Familiarity with BIM and software such as Revit
• Working knowledge of electrical design software (Amtech, Dialux or Relux)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership (advantageous)
• Senior applicants should lead projects, manage clients and mentor engineers
