IG Financials Trader

Overview

In this role you will drive market making and risk-managed trading in SG’s Financials cash bonds, serving internal and external clients. You will strengthen SG’s credit trading presence, collaborate with Sales, Risk, and IT teams, and help scale our trading capabilities and client franchise. The role focuses on delivering reliable pricing, executing transactions, and maintaining disciplined risk controls. This is an opportunity to shape SG’s credit markets strategy within a supportive, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term client relationships and maintain professional standards
• Grow SG market share through disciplined pricing and execution
• Provide support to other traders and liaise with internal stakeholders (Sales, Syndicate, Compliance, IT, Risk)
• Communicate market flows and trading ideas to sales and clients to support revenue generation
• Support sales with client pitches and revenue initiatives
• Price and execute transactions for SG clients while observing MiFID and risk controls
• Develop trading strategies and pricing models; optimize capital and leverage costs
• Contribute to IT enhancements and tool development to improve trading efficiency

Key requirements

• Institutional clients (banks, hedge funds, asset managers, pensions, insurers, corporates)
• Brokers and exchanges (electronic or voice)
• Solid understanding of credit trading, markets, and risk controls
• Ability to manage a trading book and hedging
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (Sales, Risk, IT, Compliance)
