Data Architect Fintech

Overview

As Data Architect you will lead the data strategy for a high-profile fintech client, shaping how data is stored, processed and consumed at scale. You’ll own the design and operation of high-performance databases and collaborate with developers to optimize performance, analytics and BI. This hands-on role has no dedicated data team and offers significant impact in a fast-growing environment. You will work across PCI compliance, real-time analytics and data warehousing to enable business growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of data storage, processing and viewing across the organisation
• Manage design, development and operation of high-performance databases
• Participate in analysis and design of features and drive implementation
• Ensure 100% availability of production servers
• Manage data requirements for PCI compliance, BI and real-time analytics
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies and techniques
• Collaborate with full-stack developers to improve database design and performance

Key requirements

• 5-10 years working with MS stack development
• Experience designing, developing and operating high-performance databases
• Experience with very high transactional load in always-on mode
• Experience with highly volatile load profiles
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with agile practice
• Experience building a data warehouse
• Experience supporting BI internally and for customers
• Experience with or willingness to learn NoSQL technologies (MongoDB/Redis/Cassandra)
• Experience in performance tuning databases by design and operation
• Strong communications and collaboration skills
