Overview
In this role you will lead risk management across strategic, programme, or project levels for multiple clients, shaping commercial outcomes. You’ll mentor junior staff, drive internal initiatives, and enhance the team’s external profile. You work with senior stakeholders, deliver proactive risk insight, and support decision-making with robust risk data. This position combines technical risk modelling, leadership, and business development within a collaborative, equity‑driven firm.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk management procedures for clients
- Engage with senior stakeholders in the risk process
- Lead and mentor risk teams and promote a proactive risk culture
- Present risk findings to client teams in workshops and meetings
- Ensure high-quality risk data is maintained in risk platforms for audits
- Produce QRAs (QCRA and QSRA) and use risk modelling software
- Analyze large data sets to identify risks and trends, escalating as needed
- Create risk reports for stakeholders to aid decision-making
- Keep clients updated on risk status and potential cost/timeline impacts
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and service line improvements
- Represent the Risk Management service line at events and thought leadership forums
- Bring external market insight into project delivery and service improvement
- Support resource planning and delivery oversight across commissions
- Mentor and develop Risk Analysts and Risk Managers
- Lead knowledge sharing and training sessions
Key requirements
- Degree-qualified, preferably mathematics or construction-related discipline
- Chartered or specialist risk qualification (e.g., IRM Cert) and membership in a risk body such as IRM or APM
- Experience in PMO within risk and control, risk registers, risk workshops, and both qualitative/quantitative risk analysis
- Experience on large, complex engineering projects in risk management (ideally nuclear, energy, or utilities)
- Strong understanding of schedule, estimating, and cost management principles
- Advanced data analysis and risk software skills (Safran, ARM, Acumen) and producing QRAs (QCRA and QSRA)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Consultancy experience desirable
- Proven ability to manage client relationships at senior level and present effectively
