Overview

As MEP Project Lead Engineer in Arup’s Building Engineering team, you will drive technical delivery for major rail and transport projects, coordinating cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. You’ll shape the practice across early feasibility to completion, collaborating with clients like HS2, TfL and Network Rail to create lasting value. Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams from project inception through completion
• Oversee MEP design production, assurance and compliance with major rail standards (HS2, TfL, Network Rail, Crossrail)
• Act as Electrical Technical Advisor where required; electrical background advantageous
• Manage design programmes and resources with planners and discipline leads
• Support bids, business development and shaping of rail sector skills across Arup
• Maintain awareness of applicable legislation, regulations and good practice
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture valued by the firm

Key requirements

• Chartered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with strong multidisciplinary MEP design knowledge; electrical background preferred
• Proven experience managing and delivering transport or rail projects within a consultancy
• Understanding of major rail standards, assurance processes and MEP delivery requirements
• Strong leadership, communication and client-facing skills; ability to represent Arup externally
• Experience leading engineering teams through design and construction with clients, contractors and stakeholders
