Overview

As Project Engineer you bridge Sales, Engineering, Production and Project Management to ensure customer designs meet high standards. You’ll support tenders with technical compliance, translate successful bids into deliverable designs, and assist manufacturing during build and commissioning. The role involves coordinating technical planning, design reviews, and documentation, with travel up to 20%. This position supports Axiom after Flex spins off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment, focusing on digital infrastructure for AI data centers. You’ll work across teams to deliver robust electrical solutions that align with standards and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical planning and design with execution
  • Support tender submissions ensuring technical compliance with standards and providing guidance on specifications and submittals
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to convert tenders into deliverable designs and review proposed solutions
  • Prepare project-specific design calculations
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support manufacturing during build, assembly, and testing
  • Review O&M manuals and training materials
  • Act as technical point of contact for live projects and assist in vendor calls, on-site delivery, and commissioning
  • Assist RCA reporting with Quality team
  • Promote employee training, development and engagement
  • Complete tasks assigned by Line Manager

Key requirements

  • HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with LV/MV switchgear, control panels, and electrical distribution systems
  • Strong understanding of single line diagrams, protection devices, and electrical design principles
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and produce accurate engineering documentation
  • Working knowledge of BS/IEC standards relating to switchgear and controlgear assemblies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
