Overview
In this role you drive secure hardware design within a collaborative Cambridge team, delivering high-quality, reliable hardware across electronic, RF, and digital domains. You’ll work with product managers, software, and customers to meet security certification needs and shape the hardware roadmap. Responsibilities
- work within an Agile product development framework
- build strong relationships with stakeholders
- develop high quality hardware security modules (HSM)
- hands-on development of product subsystems
- conduct hardware design, prototyping and validation
- provide architectural support for the product roadmap
- plan with the Engineering team to align dependencies
- prototype and demonstrate hardware platforms in system demos
- ensure change control, testability and manufacturability of designs
- mentor and guide less experienced team members
- drive continuous improvement and self-development
Key requirements
- ability to analyse complex technical problems and propose practical solutions
- solid understanding of analogue, RF, digital electronics and product design
- experience in high speed digital design on embedded systems
- experience with 32/64 bit processors, high speed interfaces & memory
- FPGA experience for high performance
- microcontroller development with low power techniques
- signal integrity, EMC/Safety/design for regulatory standards
- professional ECAD systems – ideally Altium
- experience in security product design and development
- optional: Embedded C or Rust, U-boot and Linux, VHDL
- Degree in Electronic Engineering (Bachelor) or equivalent underlines minimum
- Masters preferred in Electronic Engineering
