Solutions Architect, Telco, AWS Telco Business Unit

Overview

In this role, you will act as the primary technical partner for Europe’s leading telecom operators, delivering AI-driven prototypes in customer sandbox environments. You’ll combine strategic advisory with hands-on software development to demonstrate AWS value early and shorten sales cycles. You’ll work closely with customer engineers to design scalable, secure architectures and guide AI-enabled cloud transformations. The role offers the chance to shape Agentic AI initiatives at scale and contribute to transformative telco workloads.

Responsibilities

• Build working prototypes in customer non-production sandboxes using AI-augmented development tools to show tangible value early
• Pair-program with customer teams, embedding with their engineers during time-boxed sprints to accelerate AI adoption
• Write high-quality sample code for PoCs, demos, and sample apps spanning generative AI architectures and telco workloads
• Design and deploy infrastructure with IaC (AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation) in customer environments, emphasizing scalability and security patterns
• Own the end-to-end technical relationship with Tier-1 European telecom groups and translate capabilities into business outcomes
• Shape AI and cloud strategy for major operators and lead architecture for Agentic AI initiatives
• Drive AI-assisted software development lifecycle strategy to enable large-scale developer transformations
• Accelerate deal cycles by removing blockers through hands-on building and demonstrable multi-service integrations
• Identify and launch new opportunities during customer engagements and broaden service adoption

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries
• Experience in software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics
• Experience designing or consulting on applications and infrastructures
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
