Pre- Construction Manager

Overview

In this role you lead bid and preconstruction activities for a regional portfolio of build projects, shaping winning strategies and tender submissions. You manage cost planning, risk and value engineering to protect profitability while coordinating cross-functional teams. You build and maintain strong client, consultant, and supply-chain relationships to enable seamless bid-to-delivery handovers. You will contribute to impactful infrastructure projects across the UK by driving collaboration, commercial insight, and delivery excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid and preconstruction activities across regional build projects
• Develop winning strategies and manage tender submissions
• Oversee cost planning, risk management, and value engineering
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
• Coordinate internal teams including estimating, design, planning, and commercial functions
• Ensure seamless handover from preconstruction to delivery teams

Key requirements

• Proven experience in a preconstruction or bid leadership role within main contracting
• Strong commercial awareness and technical understanding of building projects
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Collaborative mindset with the confidence to lead and influence
• Track record of securing profitable work within the London or South East market
