Overview
As an Associate Civil Engineer in our Water Team, you will help shape Scotland’s water and wastewater infrastructure within a high-impact, multi-year programme. You’ll lead project teams, ensure design quality and delivery against budget and schedule, and mentor junior staff. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to drive low-carbon, standardized design and safety-first practices. This role places you at the heart of Scotland’s water transformation, offering meaningful, program-level impact and hybrid working flexibility.

Responsibilities
- Lead project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes meeting client expectations
- Manage design scope to stay within budget and programme constraints
- Identify and secure appropriate project resources
- Oversight of quality assurance for deliverables and compliance with standards
- Drive improvements in project delivery through standardized, low-carbon design
- Mentor and develop junior staff
- Foster a collaborative environment and address skill gaps
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and external partners
- Embed health and safety best practices and ensure compliance
Key requirements
- Significant experience in the water or wastewater industry
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and professional accreditation or be actively pursuing it
