Overview
As a Senior RME Technician, you will lead a shift-focused reliability maintenance team to keep packaging and sorting equipment running efficiently. You’ll apply best practices, monitor equipment performance, and implement upgrades to raise uptime and safety standards. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardise processes across the EU network and drive continuous improvement in maintenance systems. This role offers hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment with opportunities to advance within Amazon’s RME organisation.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate best-practice safety and process adherence on equipment
- Monitor equipment performance via visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance; schedule servicing as needed
- Supervise technicians on shift and mentor Reliability Maintenance Engineers
- Troubleshoot equipment to minimise downtime and support fast processing of packages
- Identify and drive improvements to standardise processes across the EU network
- Lead shifts to ensure availability of equipment and compliance with regulations and policies
- Utilise tools like Scada to monitor system performance and collaborate with line manager on admin tasks
- Support development and implementation of new processes or technologies across the EU function
Key requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics or completed a 4-year UK certified apprenticeship
- Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Relevant experience in a technical leadership role
- Experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Experience in automation or material handling equipment environments
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
