Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders, offering strategic, innovative planning advice
- Lead bid preparation and secure new business opportunities aligned with strategic priorities
- Oversee delivery of complex transport planning projects, ensuring budget, quality, and timelines
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of transport planners and consultants
- Drive team performance through client relations, project management, and revenue growth
- Promote collaboration and inclusion, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Key requirements
- Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
- Membership in CIHT or TPS
- Extensive Development Planning experience with a proven track record in winning work and growing teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver strong financial performance
- Established profile and relationships in the West Midlands development market
- Knowledge of UK&I transport planning principles, policies, and regulations
- Knowledge of transport modelling (strategic and local) and transport economics
- Collaborative mindset with design teams in scheme development
