Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Antimicrobial Therapy

Overview

Ambitious clinical role within the Antimicrobial Therapy team at a major NHS trust. You will deliver specialist antimicrobial pharmacy services across sites, supporting safe antibiotic use, discharge planning and patient counselling while contributing to clinical trials and continuous professional development. Responsibilities

• Provide specialist antimicrobial therapy guidance to medical, nursing and allied staff
• Advise on safe and effective use of medicines including reconciliation, prescribing advice and discharge planning
• Counsel patients and support clinical trials processes
• Prescribe to support medicines safety, effectiveness and discharge flow for Advanced Level pharmacists
• Collaborate with a wide team of technicians and assistants to deliver patient-centred care
• Support, motivate and engage with colleagues to develop the team and service

Key requirements

• GPhC registration
• Master in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)
• Evidence of ongoing CPD
• Significant experience in hospital pharmacy or equivalent

• Good communication, both verbal and written
• Ability to work on own initiative and in a team
• Empathy and diplomacy
• Infection prevention and control knowledge
