Overview

As Senior Manager, Controls Framework & RCSA, you will own the first-line Controls Framework and its ongoing uplift across FTSE Russell. You will collaborate with Product, Operations, Engineering, Compliance and Internal Audit to embedding credible, evidence-led controls that align with regulatory expectations. You’ll lead the control taxonomy, documentation standards and RCSA integration to ensure control design links to business processes and risk outcomes. This role offers a chance to shape a global, regulator-credible control environment and drive sustainable improvements. You will work closely with senior leaders to deliver measurable uplift and robust governance.

Responsibilities

  • Own and enhance the FTSE Russell first-line Controls Framework to remain credible and aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Define and maintain control taxonomy, classification criteria, inventory standards and documentation requirements.
  • Lead the uplift programme: scope, milestones, governance, and measurable outcomes across FTSE Russell.
  • Oversee integration of controls with the RCSA framework and map controls to processes and risk categories.
  • Drive control remediation, uplift activity, and transition to a mature, BAU governance model.
  • Establish governance forums, decision-making processes and attestation/ certification routines.
  • Develop management information for controls and RCSA, including risk indicators and senior-audience reporting.
  • Support regulatory reviews, audit activities and assurance engagements with clear control information.

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in operational risk, controls management, risk governance, or a comparable regulated environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of controls frameworks, lifecycle management and RCSA methodologies.
  • Proven experience leading transformation, uplift, remediation or framework redesign programmes.
  • Experience in rationalisation, standardisation and inventory remediation of controls.
  • Strong understanding of process-risk-control relationships and risk assessments.
  • Experience in a highly regulated financial services or market infrastructure setting.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical ability to translate complex information into practical actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for executive audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables with disciplined execution.
