Overview

As Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple leisure construction and refurbishment projects nationwide from our Oxfordshire head office. You’ll lead project teams, manage programmes and commercial performance, and ensure high client satisfaction and safe delivery. The role combines site support, client liaison and proactive risk management to drive successful project outcomes. This is a growth role with autonomy across a dispersed portfolio, offering strategic influence in a regional contractor’s expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of multiple UK construction projects
  • Provide leadership to Project Managers and site teams
  • Manage programme, commercial performance, quality and client satisfaction
  • Handle contract administration, procurement, variations, valuations and change control
  • Review budgets, forecasts and cost performance with the commercial team
  • Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigations
  • Support teams in resolving technical, contractual and delivery challenges
  • Build relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Ensure safe delivery compliant with company procedures
  • Review programmes and drive successful completion
  • Support business development through strong client relationships and repeat business
  • Assist with handover, final accounts and post-completion reviews

Key requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in construction, fit out, refurbishment or leisure
  • Experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously (500k–2m)
  • Experience managing refurbishment, conversion, fit out or technically complex projects
  • Strong commercial awareness with contract, variation, budget and profitability management
  • Ability to lead project teams across multiple locations
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, contract management and programme delivery
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work autonomously with a geographically dispersed workload
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the UK
