Overview
In this role you lead learning support and exam access arrangements across all college sites, ensuring learner-centred services and regulatory compliance. You will work within the Student Services Directorate to deploy resources effectively and drive impact for learners with SEND. Collaborating with the EHCP and High Needs Funding Manager, you will deliver high-quality support, timely access assessments, and use assistive technologies to remove barriers to learning. The position offers a chance to shape inclusive practice across a growing college team with cross-site responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead Additional Learning Support and Exam Access Arrangements across all sites
- Ensure effective deployment of resources and delivery of learner-centred services
- Monitor impact and maintain statutory/regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with EHCP and High Needs Funding Manager
- Deliver high-quality learning support and timely exam access assessments
- Implement assistive technologies for learners with SEND
- Manage and develop teams
- Liaise with external agencies
- Support young people
- Understand and apply JCQ Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (where applicable)
- Engage with wider SEND-related issues in FE
Key requirements
- Relevant professional experience in an education/Local Authority environment
- Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and its practical application
- Knowledge of best practice models in assessment of need and allocation of ALS
- Knowledge of JCQ Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments
- Experience in managing and developing teams
- Liaising with external agencies
