Overview

In this role you shape and govern end-to-end SAP supply chain solutions across planning, procurement, and logistics to support McLaren’s SAP landscape, S/4HANA transformation, and clean-core adoption. You collaborate with cross-functional leaders to translate requirements into scalable, best-practice designs and ensure performance, security, and governance. You drive modernization and embedded analytics while guiding AMS, SI, and offshore teams. This is a pivotal, architect-led role in a fast-paced, tech-driven automotive environment.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end SAP supply chain solutions across planning, procurement, inventory, logistics with cross-touchpoints (manufacturing, quality, finance)
• Promote fit-to-standard and clean-core using SAP best practices and Fiori
• Create solution blueprints, data flows, integration patterns, and functional specifications
• Ensure master data, reporting, security, controls, and performance are considered from the start
• Assess ECC6 landscape and define S/4HANA migration approach including readiness and simplification items
• Advise on S/4HANA capabilities (embedded analytics, Fiori, MRP, inventory, logistics, manufacturing integration)
• Support transformation roadmaps balancing value, risk, and technical debt
• Ensure SAP solution adherence to architecture, security, and compliance standards
• Provide design authority input, governance contributions, and long-term SAP roadmap protection
• Translate requirements into designs for internal teams, SIs, and offshore delivery
• Review deliverables against architecture principles and business needs
• Support build, test, cutover, hypercare, and deployment readiness
• Guide functional consultants, developers, data specialists, and AMS providers to ensure quality
• Act as trusted advisor on SAP capabilities, process optimization, and roadmap
• Lead discussions on trade-offs, risks, and change impact

Key requirements

• Extensive experience as SAP Supply Chain Solution Architect or related senior role
• Deep SAP supply chain knowledge (procurement, MM, inventory, logistics) with integration to Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, PLM, MES
• Strong ECC6 and S/4HANA expertise, fit-to-standard design, clean-core principles
• Proven ability to design and govern complex SAP solutions with clear documentation
• Experience with AMS providers, SI partners, and offshore teams
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills
• Desirable: SAP S/4HANA certification, EWM and Ariba, SAP Activate, agile/hybrid delivery methods
• Familiarity with Fiori, SAP BTP, embedded analytics, and SAP Integration Suite
