Trading Documentation and Counterparty Onboarding Manager – London

Overview

In this role you will oversee the full onboarding lifecycle for trading counterparties within Mercer’s Direct Investment Unit. You will coordinate internal teams and external counterparties to keep onboarding disciplined, timely, and well-governed. You’ll maintain the trading document pipeline, lead stakeholder calls, and manage status visibility across AML/KYC, credit, legal, and operations. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that shapes onboarding governance in a fast-growing investment environment. You’ll work in a collaborative, impact-focused culture with opportunities to drive improvements and real business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the trading document pipeline tracker, ensuring it is current and prioritized
• Chair weekly stakeholder pipeline calls, drive decisions and close actions
• Prepare slides for monthly meetings and coordinate updates
• Partner with stakeholders to reflect business priorities in onboarding sequencing
• Track progression through onboarding stages and provide visibility on status and blockers
• Lead onboarding communications with counterparties and coordinate AML/KYC and credit requirements
• Run document collection, AML/KYC review and credit review stages of onboarding
• Own the offboarding process with bank counterparties in line with governance

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in trading documentation, counterparty onboarding, legal intake or lifecycle management
• Proven project management capability coordinating multiple workstreams
• Knowledge of AML/KYC, credit, legal documentation and onboarding controls
• Strong stakeholder management across Legal, Trading, Operations and client-facing teams
• High attention to detail and structured issue escalation and resolution
• Comfort with workflow platforms, onboarding systems and internal reporting tools
