Overview
As a Principal Civil Engineer at AECOM’s Water team, you will lead and shape water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK and abroad. You’ll work with multidisciplinary experts to deliver feasibility, design and delivery of large-scale schemes, aligning with client and sustainability objectives. You’ll mentor junior staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive technical assurance and risk management. This is a chance to influence major water assets and contribute to transformative projects within a global engineering leader.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists, and specialists to deliver projects
- Liaise with clients to develop scope and proposals and report progress
- Produce feasibility studies, outline and detailed designs, reports and technical specifications
- Undertake line management and performance evaluations for junior staff
- Ensure design compliance with standards and regulations; provide interdisciplinary technical support
Key requirements
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience in the water sector
- Chartered or Incorporated with ICE, CIWEM or approaching chartered status
- Experience in engineering assessments, options appraisals, and/or economic appraisals
- Experience in outline and detailed design for wastewater or water treatment, flood risk management or drainage schemes
