Senior Security Engineer – Enterprise Security

Overview

As Senior Security Engineer in our Enterprise Security team, you will co-own the day-to-day operation of Samsara’s security environment at enterprise scale, focusing on endpoint security, visibility, and zero trust. You’ll design and refine security policies, triage incidents, and drive automation to reduce toil. You will collaborate across Engineering, IT, and Security to implement tools and respond to threats, while mentoring peers and contributing to a security-first culture that supports our growth.

Responsibilities

• Co-own day-to-day operation, triage, and tuning of the endpoint security environment; respond to escalations and investigate anomalies
• Improve endpoint visibility tools and workflows in partnership with Security Operations and incident learnings
• Create clear documentation and runbooks for enterprise security workflows
• Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and Security to implement tools and policies
• Support Security Operations during investigations as a technical SME
• Triage and assist remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations with engineering teams
• Mentor Security engineers to grow domain knowledge, tooling, and communication
• Champion Samsara cultural principles (customer focus, long-term thinking, growth mindset, inclusion, teamwork)

Key requirements

• 5+ years in an Enterprise Security role with demonstrated impact
• Hands-on experience with endpoint security and visibility tools at enterprise scale (e.g., Crowdstrike, osquery)
• Exposure to additional enterprise security tool stacks beyond endpoint security (SASE, zero trust, email security, DLP, IAM)
• Automation mindset with Python scripting and debugging; experience with SOAR platforms
• Strong ability to evaluate security issues for severity and business impact
• Proven track record delivering impactful work across multiple quarters and cross-team collaboration
