Overview
In this senior, hands-on role you will own testing quality within a Scrum team and drive automation practices. You will mentor other QA Engineers and collaborate to strengthen automation across the CI/CD process. You will deliver comprehensive functional, non-functional, and regression testing while supporting performance, security, and usability testing. This opportunity sits in the UK’s low-carbon electricity space and offers meaningful impact through robust QA leadership and automation. You will work in a hybrid setup with two days in the Birmingham office and partner with cross-functional teams to ship reliable software.

Responsibilities
- Own quality and testing within your Scrum team
- Define test strategies, plans and test cases
- Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts
- Improve automation frameworks with Principal QA Engineer
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Manage defects through investigation, resolution and retesting
- Deliver functional, non-functional and regression testing
- Support performance, load, security, accessibility and usability testing
- Maintain test environments, data and documentation
- Coach and mentor QA Engineers
Key requirements
- Strong commercial software testing and QA experience
- Hands-on Java and Selenium automation experience
- Experience using or designing Page Object Model frameworks
- Strong understanding of STLC and SDLC in commercial environments
- Functional and non-functional testing experience
- Commercial edge-case testing experience
- Test planning, test design and execution capability
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD
- Experience coaching and mentoring QA Engineers
- Strong debugging and analytical skills
- Willingness to complete BPSS screening
