Production Engineer

Overview

In this role you will contribute to developing and manufacturing next-generation laser communication systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to move projects from prototype to production, focusing on manufacturing, testing, quality, and process improvements. You’ll own assembly, documentation, and supply chain support, while optimizing processes to reduce waste and boost efficiency. This is an opportunity to shape scalable production in a cutting-edge tech space with hands-on impact.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, electrical, or optical systems and sub-assemblies
• Support 3D printing activities and manage parts inventory
• Develop and maintain SOPs and production documentation
• Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Manage outsourced components and support supply chain activities
• Inspect incoming parts and ensure products meet quality standards
• Support system installation, deployment, and field maintenance activities

Key requirements

• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Hands-on assembly, integration, and testing in Mechanical, Electrical, or Optical systems
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently
• Experience transitioning prototypes into serial production
