Overview

As a Geotechnical EIT/Young Professional at Stantec, you join a collaborative team delivering local geotechnical projects. You’ll engage in field investigations, lab testing, and site monitoring, contributing to projects with tangible community impact in Edmonton. You’ll receive mentorship while developing skills across field and design work, with opportunities to contribute to proposals and cost estimates. Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical site investigations and instrument monitoring in the field
  • Perform laboratory soil tests and interpret results
  • Visit project sites to observe progress and assess impact of contributions
  • Prepare technical reports under senior guidance
  • Collaborate with teams and contractors to develop cost estimates and proposals
  • Support field work with travel and flexible hours as projects require

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Civil Engineering
  • 0–2 years in geotechnical engineering or related services
  • Eligible to register (or already registered) as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGA
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license with access to a vehicle
  • Ability to live and work in Canada; residing in Edmonton or willing to relocate
