Overview
In this Engineering Manager role, you will lead the site’s engineering function to enable safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing. You’ll guide strategic engineering direction, governance and projects as the site expands from a single to multi-sector manufacturing footprint. You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to deliver sustainable engineering outcomes aligned with growth, cost, quality and safety targets. This is a transformative period with opportunities to shape capabilities, processes and the rollout of new product programmes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall performance and direction of the site’s engineering function
- Provide strategic leadership, governance and operational oversight for engineering activities
- Ensure safe, compliant manufacturing operations and successful project delivery
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams
- Support expansion to multi-sector manufacturing and new product programmes
- Align engineering delivery with business objectives and targets
- Govern engineering processes, tooling, machinery and governance frameworks
- Navigate regulated environments and maintain compliance (e.g., AS9100)
Key requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years’ experience in engineering leadership within manufacturing/industrial environment
- CEng status desirable
- Automotive experience highly valued; aerospace or regulated industries advantageous
- Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling and engineering governance
- Experience operating in regulated or certified environments (e.g., AS9100)
- Demonstrated success in aligning engineering delivery with operational and business objectives
