Overview

In this role you will lead the delivery of complex civil engineering infrastructure within a highly regulated environment, driving safety, schedule, and cost performance. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate contractors and consultants, and ensure successful design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover under NEC4 contracts. You will work closely with stakeholders to meet governance and compliance objectives while contributing to the group’s growth and operational excellence. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape large-scale infrastructure programs in a nuclear-focused context.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate project teams to achieve excellent results and cultivate a safety-first culture
  • Champion Health & Safety and CDM compliance across projects
  • Manage scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk from inception to handover
  • Oversee procurement and NEC4 contract delivery in line with MOD policies
  • Ensure projects stay within budgets and timelines while meeting performance targets
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement through contract management
  • Deliver accurate project, commercial, and performance reporting with compliance
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to promote operational excellence across the organisation

Key requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects in highly regulated environments
  • Strong track record across full lifecycle: design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover
  • Sound knowledge of NEC4 contracts, commercial management, change control, risk and governance
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors and consultants
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Chartered status (or working towards it) and commitment to professional development
