Overview

As Operations Manager you will lead electronics manufacturing to deliver quality products on time while upholding safety and cost targets. You will manage a multi-function leadership team and partner across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial to sustain a world-class production environment. You will drive Lean, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving to cut lead times and defects. This role offers visibility in site strategy, cross-site collaboration, and the opportunity to shape operational excellence at Eastbourne.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop managers across Production, Test, Engineering, Planning, and Improvement
  • Ensure workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning; coach performance and accountability
  • Deliver safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people goals; align resources with business needs
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture and build partnerships with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial
  • Lead Vacuum Technique Production System deployment; embed Lean and continuous improvement; drive cost reduction initiatives
  • Ensure manufacturing and test support for NPI and manufacturability; optimise processes, automation, and investment
  • Direct planning to support demand; align capacity, labour, and schedules; contribute to S&OP
  • Provide visible Health, Safety and Environment leadership; maintain ISO standards and safe work systems
  • Contribute to Site Leadership Team; develop operational objectives and improvement plans with General Manager
  • Represent Eastbourne in divisional/global forums and share best practices

Key requirements

  • Significant senior management experience in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience developing and executing operational strategies across multiple manufacturing functions
  • Proven experience leading operational change, transformation and performance improvement
  • Proven experience managing and developing managers across functions
  • Proven track record of high-performing, engaged teams
  • Demonstrated success in improving safety, quality, delivery, cost and people performance
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence and improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness with budgets and cost improvements
