Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will strengthen Wise’s Account Integrity tooling to protect customer funds and prevent fraud. You will own end-to-end projects that tighten controls, improve detection, and enable safer, scalable money transfers. Collaborating with Product, Design, Data Science, and Investigations, you’ll ship customer-facing security features while enhancing automation. This position offers impact across global customer security and product growth in a high-stakes fintech environment. You’ll work in a cross-functional team shaping the future of Wise’s fraud prevention capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine critical controls to protect accounts from takeovers
• Work full-stack with Product & Design to design customer-facing controls
• Collaborate with data scientists and data analysts to improve detection capabilities
• Own end-to-end projects with measurable impact on security and automation
• Contribute to securing customer money and accelerating product growth
• Help engineer a world-class money transfer product

Key requirements

• Java or JVM-based languages with Spring framework
• Experience building scalable web applications handling high traffic
• Frontend experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Designing and operating CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of distributed and concurrent systems
• Product mindset with data-driven decision making
• Relational and non-relational databases; query optimization and resilient schemas
• Test Driven Development and strong coding practices
• Excellent cross-team communication; mentoring junior engineers
