Overview
In this role you lead electrical engineering delivery within Arup’s SIT team in London, driving multi-disciplinary design from concept through construction. You’ll shape innovative, sustainable electrical systems aligned with net-zero goals and collaborate across global projects. You mentor junior engineers, manage resources and, when needed, assume project management duties to deliver impactful outcomes. Responsibilities
- Lead the design development of electrical systems/sub-systems from concept to construction
- Produce drawings, reports, specifications and calculations
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to optimize designs
- Organise and lead technical resources to meet project objectives
- Develop and manage the design programme
- Represent the Electrical discipline in internal and external meetings
- Develop others through guidance, training and feedback (potential Line Manager)
- Possibly act as Project Manager for resourcing, commercial delivery and project success
Key requirements
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
- Experience as an electrical discipline lead within multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong client communication and influencing skills
- Ability to delegate tasks to junior engineers
- Mentorship capability, including supporting chartership progression via IET mentoring
- Inquisitive nature and willingness to explore new opportunities, technologies and ways of working
