Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver large, complex initiatives across team boundaries
  • Broker cross-team solution ideation and ensure team accountability for outcomes
  • Own engineering performance metrics with the Engineering Manager to drive continuous improvement
  • Champion engineering-led improvements and establish cross-team standards incorporating AI
  • Solve technical problems within your domain and act as a technical authority
  • Drive technical strategy aligned with commercial outcomes and customer needs
  • Collaborate with Engineering Manager and Product Manager to set technical and product vision
  • Make durable, scalable, and secure architectural decisions and own outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, adapting style as needed
  • Navigate contentious conversations and manage trade-offs with product partners

Key requirements

  • Technical leadership with a track record of owning complex delivery across teams
  • Mentoring and coaching mindset with emphasis on feedback
  • Strong ability to spot cross-team friction and resolve misalignment
  • Experience in at least one major programming language (Python, Ruby, Clojure)
  • Recognised technical authority within domain with peer trust
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tooling to improve team delivery
  • Ability to connect technical work to end-to-end customer needs and business outcomes
  • Stakeholder management and ability to communicate with non-technical audiences
