Overview
As a Senior Service Engineer, you will lead maintenance, calibration and repair of water treatment equipment across Scotland, mentoring junior engineers and supporting service growth. You’ll install, commission and service purification systems, delivering high-quality customer support with a strong emphasis on safety. The role blends hands-on field work with developing technical documentation and training. You join Veolia’s Equipment Services, contributing to Scotland’s service presence and broader ecological transformation.

Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service, calibrate and repair water treatment equipment
- Perform planned maintenance and routine servicing under contracts
- Diagnose and resolve complex faults on customer sites
- Produce service reports, technical recommendations and customer documentation
- Provide technical support to customers, colleagues and internal teams
- Assist in training and developing Trainee/Service Engineers
- Deliver customer training on operation and maintenance of equipment
- Develop technical manuals and service procedures
- Manage spare parts and maintain tools and equipment
- Build customer relationships and identify opportunities to refer to sales
- Ensure work complies with safety, ISO standards and health requirements
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and on-call requirements
- Travel across the UK, with overnight stays as needed
Key requirements
- Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in plant maintenance, fault finding, and equipment servicing
- Experience with water treatment or water purification equipment
- Previous experience as a mobile or field service engineer
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong technical problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Good computer literacy and report writing skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and stay away from home
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
