Overview
As an Audit Manager, you will lead client engagements within a UK practice, ensuring high-quality audits and timely delivery. You will mentor juniors, review work, and present files to Partners, shaping the audit function and contributing to the firm’s growth. You’ll manage risk, budgets, and complex group audits, driving improvements in processes and client satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Lead client engagements and coordinate with stakeholders
- Review work of Seniors and Supervisors for accuracy and timeliness
- Present high-quality working papers and financial statements to Partners/RI
- Coach and develop junior staff and conduct appraisals
- Act as line manager to a small team of Seniors
- Ensure thorough risk assessments and robust audit procedures
- Manage assignment budgets and efficiency within scope
- Support Partners with ad hoc queries and client requests
- Drive continuous improvement in audit processes and compliance
Key requirements
- Fully ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 3 years post-qualification experience in audit
- Strong technical expertise in FRS 102, Companies Act and ISAs with up-to-date knowledge of upcoming standards
- Excellent understanding of Corporation Tax legislation and audit planning for complex groups and contracts
- Experience reviewing consolidations and advising clients at all levels
- Experience coaching, appraising, and developing junior staff
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments
- Proficiency in MS Excel and audit/tax software such as CCH ProAudit, Digita products, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks
- Excellent communication skills to discuss complex technical matters
- Experience working with international groups and reporting to group auditors
