Product Owner

Overview

In this full-ownership product role, you will own the accountants proposition for Allica Bank, shaping the strategy, roadmap and outcomes. You’ll lead a cross-functional squad to deliver an experience that helps accountants monitor, reconcile and advise across multiple SME client portfolios. The role focuses on building trust, reliability and value for accountants and their SME clients, driving acquisition, retention and product depth. You’ll work with Compliance and Risk to manage regulatory obligations and use data to guide decisions. This is a high-impact opportunity to scale a core growth channel in fintech for established SMEs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product strategy, vision, roadmap and execution for the accountants proposition
• Lead a cross-functional squad (Engineering, Design, Data, Operations) to deliver customer-facing features
• Take full commercial accountability for squad OKRs including accountant-driven acquisition, growth, retention and product depth
• Define and implement the accountant access model with permissions and controls
• Deliver the accountant-facing product experience across multiple clients with workflow tools for monitoring, reconciling and advising
• Partner with Design, UX and Research for customer discovery and iterative validation with accountants and SME clients
• Define metrics, track outcomes and base decisions on data
• Identify and proactively manage product, regulatory and delivery risks with Compliance and Risk
• Maintain and communicate a clear roadmap to Tribe Lead, squads and leadership

Key requirements

• Significant experience as Product Owner/Manager in financial services, preferably for accountants/bookkeepers or professional services
• Deep understanding of accountant workflows, client management and accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Experience taking a product from MVP to a full proposition, within banking/fintech or professional services software
• Strong commercial acumen with OKR ownership and data-driven prioritisation
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical, commercial and regulatory audiences
• Decisive, with a track record of moving quickly while managing risk
• Experience working in agile squads with Engineers, Designers, Data Analysts and Operations
