Associate Cost Manager (Construction Consultancy)

Overview

In this role you will drive cost management across projects from inception to delivery, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams. You’ll lead project delivery, mentor junior staff, and help grow the business through bids and relationships. You join the Birmingham Cost Management team to support high-profile schemes in commercial, industrial, residential, and education markets. Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver project cost management to meet time, budget, and quality targets while coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
• Strengthen client relationships by delivering exceptional service aligned with client objectives and business growth
• Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting talent development and fostering a high-performance culture
• Support bids, business development, and knowledge-sharing through industry engagement and networks

Key requirements

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management
• Chartered Status with the RICS
• Proven cost management experience with full deliverables on projects
• Ability to advise on cost, value, and risk, not just cost in isolation
• Demonstrated leadership potential and strong client relationship management
• Excellent IT skills and ability to use digital measurement, cost planning and tender documentation tools
• Experience with projects across UK sectors including Commercial, Industrial and Logistics, Residential, Higher Education and Mixed Use
