Llys Emlyn Williams, Holywell | Rota Based | 3 x 12 Hour Shifts per Week
Be the difference in someone’s journey to independence.
At ClwydAlyn, we’re on an ambitious journey to help end poverty across North Wales. As a trusted Registered Social Landlord, we provide high-quality homes and support services that help people thrive, not just survive.
Everything we do is guided by our values of Trust, Kindness and Hope. These aren’t just words on a wall. They shape how we work, how we support our residents, and how we treat each other.
We’re looking for a compassionate, resilient and motivated Homeless Support Officer to join our team at Llys Emlyn Williams, where you’ll play a vital role helping young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness move towards greater independence, stability and wellbeing.
About The Role
Llys Emlyn Williams is a supported living scheme in Holywell providing accommodation and support for single homeless people aged 16-35. The scheme offers a safe and secure environment with shared facilities and a strong focus on helping residents develop the skills and confidence needed to live independently.
As a Homeless Support Officer, you’ll provide person-centred support that empowers residents to achieve their goals and move toward independent living. Using a strengths-based, inclusive and trauma-informed approach, you’ll build positive relationships and support individuals with varied experiences and support needs.
No two days are the same. You could be helping residents access welfare benefits, healthcare, education, training or employment opportunities, supporting them to develop essential life skills, facilitating activities that promote wellbeing and social inclusion, or working alongside partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment where residents can thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building positive, professional relationships with residents and providing consistent support throughout their journey.
- Developing, reviewing and delivering person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
- Supporting residents to access education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
- Assisting residents to access benefits, healthcare services and other sources of support.
- Encouraging life skills development, independence and tenancy readiness.
- Facilitating activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, social inclusion and community engagement.
- Working closely with partner agencies including housing, health, social care and support services.
- Maintaining accurate case notes, support records and incident reporting.
- Promoting safeguarding and always supporting the safety and wellbeing of residents.
- Supporting safeguarding practices and promoting the safety and wellbeing of residents.
- Undertaking housing management duties, including supporting residents with benefits, tenancy matters and rehousing pathways.
- Contributing to a safe, welcoming and supportive environment across the service.
About You
We’re looking for someone who genuinely believes in people’s potential and is passionate about helping them achieve it.
You will be someone who:
- Embodies our values of Trust, Kindness and Hope in everything you do.
- Demonstrates empathy and understanding when working with young people who have experienced homelessness and other forms of disadvantage.
- Builds strong, trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Communicates effectively with a wide range of people and professionals.
- Remains calm, confident and solution-focused when faced with challenging situations.
- Shows resilience and emotional intelligence when supporting people with complex needs.
- Is comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Takes a proactive and positive approach to supporting people to achieve their goals.
- Works in a non-judgemental manner and values diversity and inclusion.
- Is committed to safeguarding, health and safety, and professional practice.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll ideally have experience supporting vulnerable people within homelessness, housing, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, social care or similar support settings.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with:
- Experience delivering person-centred support to vulnerable individuals.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
- Understanding of areas such as homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, VAWDASV, neurodiversity or related support services.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing risk, safeguarding concerns and challenging behaviours.
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
- An understanding of housing, benefits and tenancy sustainment would be advantageous.
Why ClwydAlyn?
At ClwydAlyn, you’ll be joining an organisation with a clear social purpose and a genuine commitment to making a difference in people’s lives. You’ll be supported to learn, develop and grow in your role while working alongside colleagues who are passionate about creating positive change.
Together, we’re working to end poverty and build stronger communities across North Wales.
