About the role:

Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Great Yarmouth who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate languages specialist who is committed to developing students’ communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in learning a foreign language. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students to develop their linguistic abilities while fostering a love of language learning.

This role would suit an experienced MFL Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to further develop their career within a collaborative and supportive department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inspiring MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach one or more modern foreign languages, such as French, Spanish, or German, depending on experience and school requirements
  • Promote language learning through creative and interactive teaching strategies
  • Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
  • Encourage cultural understanding and appreciation of different countries and traditions
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports student achievement
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement
  • Support students in developing confidence and independence in language learning
  • Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and departmental initiatives
  • Organise and contribute to language-based enrichment activities and events where appropriate
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Promote safeguarding and student welfare at all times
  • Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing high-quality education for all learners

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language education
  • The ability to teach French, Spanish, German, or a combination of languages
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for all students
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • An enthusiastic, proactive, and reflective approach to teaching and learning
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Two recent education-based references
