Location: London
Job Description:

I’m delighted to be partnering with a growing Private Markets firm to hire a Finance Manager into its London-based finance team.

This is a broad, hands-on role working across both the management company and investment funds, with significant exposure to the investment team and Partners. The remit combines management accounting, FP&A, fund modelling and finance transformation/automation, suited to an AI literate and commercially minded professional with previous experience in a private markets fund.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversight of monthly management accounts across multiple entities – the day to day work is outsourced and your role will be to oversee the final production and analysis
  • Accruals, intercompany accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Payment runs, invoicing, expenses and payroll accounting support
  • Fund expense recharges and liaison with third-party administrators
  • Supporting annual statutory audits and regulatory/tax filings
  • Ownership of annual budgets, reforecasts and rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Management information, KPI reporting and scenario analysis
  • Building and maintaining fund models, including management fees, carry calculations, capital calls and distributions
  • Supporting fund-level forecasting and liquidity monitoring
  • Developing and improving AI-assisted finance processes and automation (Claude)
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency across the wider finance function

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified ACA/CA, ACCA or CIMA – likely around the 2 to 5 years PQE mark or equivalent
  • Strong management accounting and FP&A experience gained working in a private markets fund (essential) or potentially mainstream asset/wealth management
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Genuine hands-on experience using AI/LLM tools within finance
  • Commercial, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of a broad remit
  • Able to operate effectively within a small, fast-moving and entrepreneurial team
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders

This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone looking to join a sophisticated investment business where the finance team is highly integrated into the firm, sitting hand in glove with the investment team.

Salary on offer is £85-95k base plus benefits and bonus.
