Overview
In this role you will develop mechanical designs for water and wastewater assets, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions. You’ll support design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering, and provide technical input through construction and handover. The position offers exposure to high-impact infrastructure projects in London, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on engineering role with a clear impact on essential water infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs from concept to detailed design aligned with project specs
- Produce technical documents, calculations, schedules, and design reports
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and process engineering disciplines for integrated designs
- Support design reviews, HAZOPs, risk assessments, and value engineering
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and handover
- Ensure designs comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
Key requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in water, wastewater, or utilities sector
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (pumps, valves, pipework, rotating equipment)
- Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with 3D modelling and calculation software
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive with focus on quality and efficient delivery
- CSCS / EUSR Water Hygiene desirable
