is looking to appoint an experienced
Engineering Manager
to lead the engineering and maintenance function at a key operational site in the West Midlands.This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for driving
plant reliability, maintenance performance, engineering standards and continuous improvement
across a busy processing environment.The Role
Working closely with Operations and other site functions, you will take ownership of the engineering and maintenance function, with responsibilities including:Leading and developing the site’s engineering and maintenance functionDeveloping and delivering planned, preventative and condition-based maintenance strategiesManaging breakdown response, root cause analysis and corrective actionsImplementing and optimising
CMMS
systems, PPM schedules and asset management processesUsing engineering KPIs including
MTBF, MTTR and PPM compliance
to improve plant reliabilityManaging critical spares, inventory and equipment obsolescenceManaging engineering contractors, RAMS, Permit to Work and contractor performanceSupporting engineering projects, plant improvements and
Capex
worksManaging maintenance budgets and controlling engineering expenditureDriving continuous improvement across plant reliability, efficiency and maintenance standardsEnsuring engineering activities comply with relevant health, safety and statutory requirementsAbout You
We’re looking for an experienced engineering or maintenance professional from
recycling, waste processing, aggregates, FMCG or a comparable heavy industrial/process environment .Ideally, you’ll have:A time-served
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
background, ideally HNC/HND or equivalentPrevious experience leading an engineering or maintenance function within a continuous production/process environmentStrong knowledge of planned, preventative and reactive maintenanceExperience with equipment such as
conveyors, shredders, separators, motors, drives and associated process equipmentPractical knowledge of
sensors, VSDs and PLC fault-findingStrong
CMMS and maintenance planning
experienceExperience managing contractors and delivering engineering or Capex projectsGood knowledge of
PUWER, LOLER, LOTO, Permit to Work, risk assessments and RAMSStrong fault-finding, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills Engineering ManagerExperience with
DSEAR/ATEX, PLC/HMI diagnostics, ISO management systems, HV systems or Lean/TPM methodologies
