MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day to day electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, controls maintenance and engineering activities on the Larne site.
JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure the Larne Facility and Equipment are maintained and available for use when required.
GENERAL DUTIES
Complete preventative maintenance work-orders in timely and efficient manner, i.e. trouble-shooting failures (mechanical / electrical / hydraulic / pneumatic).
Performing breakdown repairs – liaising or sourcing equipment / parts suppliers.
Commission / decommission of plant and equipment.
Interface with the building management system to monitor and manage all critical processes on site.
Provide on-call and emergency call-out cover to the site as per the associated roster, if required to do so.
Participate in maintenance shutdowns, including the supervision of external resources and liaising with insurance inspectors (issue relevant permits, ensure EHS compliance and Risk Assessment creation or review).
Deliver initiatives for improving plant reliability and process efficiency improvements.
Aid with control systems, process validation, research and development, vendor services and commissioning activities.
Perform instrument calibrations as per schedule
Write / review / update engineering standard operating procedures and EHS policies.
Participate in cross functional meetings to communicate engineering information which could impact other departments or in a regular and timely fashion to prevent prolonged / unplanned downtime.
Carry out engineering site audits and risk assessments.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Multi skilled maintenance engineer with electrical and mechanical experience
Qualifications 5 GCSEs with a minimum of English c / Maths – c and relevant apprenticeship or qualification in NVQ/Diploma in Engineering, HNC / HND: Higher National Certificates (HNC) or Higher National Diplomas (HND) in mechanical, electrical, or operations and maintenance engineering or equivalent qualification.
Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
Familiarity of electrical / pneumatic schematics to aid with fault finding and maintenance
Previous instrumentation experience e.g. calibrations / PLC programming
Familiarity with data integrity regulations, tracking electronic maintenance logs, and audit-ready paperwork
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Minimum 5 years experience working as an engineer in pharmaceuticals
Experience using engineering software systems e.g. Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document asset tracking systems
Experience with building management / SCADA systems
NEBOSH National General Certificate / IOSH Managing Safely
Experience executing Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols
Experience in electrical inspection testing
