LeadMaintenance Engineer

At Creative Composites, we design and manufactureworld-leadingcomposite components. Our customer base spans major OEMs in a range of sectors such as automotive, medical,transportand construction.Behind the scenes, ourstate-of-the-artequipment includes the largest compression moulding presses in the UK,robotic cells,5-axis CNC machines, conveyorized paint lines and advanced assembly fixtures.

AsaMaintenance Engineer, you will bepart of a team responsible forpreventative and reactivemaintenance,as well as playing a key role in exciting new projects.

Duties:

  • Act as the technical lead for electrical and controls fault-finding, diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly to protect production output

  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on significant breakdowns, driving corrective actions and preventing repeat failures

  • Fault-find and repair single and 3-phase systems, inverters, drives, relays, PLCs,motorsand robots, working from electrical drawings

  • Plan and deliver preventative maintenance across an automated plant, and contribute to improving PM schedules based on failure data

  • Coach,mentorand upskill new and developing team members, including on-the-job training in fault-finding and safe working practices

  • Help to deliver project work to improve machine availability and reduce downtime

  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment and take on safety-related duties

  • Liaise with external service engineers and contractors, and review the quality of their work

  • Support mechanical,hydraulicand pneumatic repairs asrequired

Essential requirements:

  • Time-served or qualified electrical / electromechanical engineer with a strong electrical bias

  • Proven industrial experience fault-finding Siemens PLC-controlled systems, and others

  • Hands-on experience with ABB robotics and automation, including fault diagnosis and recovery

  • Ability to work independently and solve problems without close supervision

  • Experience training, mentoring others

  • Good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Strong communicationskills and a reliable attendance record

Desirable:

  • Experience in an advancedmanufacturingenvironment

  • Experience with CNC machining centres including calibration

  • ABB robot programming (RAPID) or ABB robotics training certification

  • 18th Edition wiring regulations and/or inspection and testing qualifications

  • Experience of fabrication

  • Experience with TPM or planned maintenance systems
