Hays Engineering are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation to recruit a Paint Department Supervisor for their expanding production facility in the Dungannon area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paint shop professional to take ownership of a busy department, leading a team responsible for delivering high-quality finishing standards while ensuring productivity, efficiency and customer delivery targets are met.

Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in driving quality, continuous improvement and team performance.

Your new role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Paint Department, ensuring production schedules, quality standards and health and safety requirements are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervising and coordinating all Paint Department activities.Planning and monitoring daily production schedules to meet customer requirements.Ensuring all painting, coating and finishing processes meet company quality standards.Leading, motivating and developing department personnel.Managing labour allocation and departmental resources to maximise efficiency.Conducting quality inspections and implementing corrective actions where required.Monitoring paint consumption, stock levels and materials to minimise waste and control costs.Ensuring spray booths, equipment and machinery are maintained and operated safely.Working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve issues.Maintaining production records, quality documentation and KPI reports.Driving continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality and productivity.Ensuring compliance with COSHH, environmental and health & safety regulations.Investigating quality issues, accidents and near misses and implementing corrective actions.

What you’ll need to succeed

Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing or engineering paint department.Strong understanding of industrial paint application, surface preparation and finishing processes.Experience of production planning and workflow management.Good knowledge of COSHH, health & safety and environmental requirements.Excellent leadership and people management skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.Excellent communication and organisational skills.DesirableExperience with wet paint and powder coating systems.Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.Forklift licence.
