The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs across a range of vehicles and mechanical equipment, ensuring everything remains safe, reliable and operational.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in high-quality workmanship and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Complete repairs across a varied fleet of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
- Support equipment reliability through planned maintenance programmes.
- Assist with inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment remains fully operational.
- Work alongside external contractors when specialist support is required.
- Help maintain workshop stock levels, tools and equipment.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
- Keep up to date with new vehicle technologies and attend training where required.
About You
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:
- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working as a mechanic within automotive, commercial vehicle, plant or industrial environments.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work well within a team.
- A commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and safety.
