Site Commissioning Engineer UK & Europe | Permanent | Up to £70,000 + Overtime
This is a permanent, site-based role working across the UK and Europe, with the majority of projects currently focused across Spain, France and Portugal.
The successful engineers will be responsible for commissioning and testing critical electrical systems, ensuring projects are safely delivered, fully tested and ready for client handover.
The Role Reporting to the Site Commissioning Manager, you will manage and deliver commissioning activities across major projects, working closely with clients, contractors, consultants and equipment manufacturers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop commissioning plans, procedures and schedules
- Review design documents, specifications and construction drawings
- Coordinate commissioning activities with clients, contractors and consultants
- Support risk assessments and method statements
- Carry out, witness and verify FAT and SAT testing
- Complete pre-functional and functional testing of critical systems
- Commission and test switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators and PDUs
- Support testing of mechanical systems, BMS, EPMS and fire protection systems
- Execute integrated systems testing (IST)
- Ensure systems meet project specifications, client requirements and relevant standards
- Identify defects and manage their resolution through commissioning trackers
- Coordinate with construction teams, equipment vendors, design consultants and operations teams
- Produce commissioning reports and test documentation
- Track progress against project commissioning schedules
- Compile O&M documentation and support client training and final handover
- Ensure systems are fully commissioned and ready for live operation
About You We are keen to speak with engineers who have a background in:
- Electrical engineering
- MEP / building services
- Commissioning
- Construction
- Facilities engineering
- Industrial or mission-critical environments
Ideally, you will have previous experience commissioning systems within data centres, industrial plants or other mission-critical facilities, with experience working on large-scale projects.
Relevant qualifications may include:
- Degree or HND in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services or Energy Engineering
- Time-served Electrical background
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Testing & Inspection / C&G 2391
- CIBSE commissioning qualifications
- ASHRAE commissioning training
- Uptime Institute ATS
- CSCS / SMSTS or relevant H&S qualifications
Package
- Salary up to £70,000 per annum
- Paid weekly
- Overtime at 1.5x for hours worked above 40 per week
- 3% employer pension contribution
- 5% employee pension contribution
- Private medical healthcare
- Life Assurance – 3x annual gross salary
- Permanent contract following a 6-month probationary period
- Monday-Thursday: 8.00am-5.30pm
- Friday: 8.00am-12.00pm
- UK and European site-based working
Location & Travel
This is a genuinely international role, with engineers required to travel extensively to project sites across the UK and Europe, particularly Spain, France and Portugal.
