Senior Data Engineer, Mi-Platform

Overview

In this role you will design, build, and deploy end-to-end data solutions for Point72’s Market Intelligence team. You will collaborate with investment professionals, researchers, and data scientists to deliver compliant, AI-ready data assets and tools. You’ll create scalable, cloud-based infrastructure and reusable software components to enable rapid experimentation and production deployment. You will implement governance and data quality controls to ensure auditable datasets, while optimizing performance and cost. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with investment professionals, researchers, and data scientists to design and launch end-to-end data solutions including data pipelines, products, and tools
• Design and develop large-scale data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and trends to deliver AI-ready data assets
• Build reusable software components, libraries, and APIs to support rapid experimentation and production deployment
• Implement data quality, lineage, and governance controls to ensure reliable, auditable, and compliant datasets
• Construct scalable, AI-native cloud infrastructure using distributed systems techniques to deliver data-driven solutions
• Improve performance, cost efficiency, and reliability through benchmarking and iterative enhancements

Key requirements

• 5+ years in Data Engineering or related field
• 2+ years Python development
• Experience with system design and leading multi-person development
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
• Experience building scalable backend APIs and software applications
• Experience with cloud platforms/services for data storage and compute (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow
• Knowledge of LangChain or related frameworks, embedding models, vector/graph databases is a plus
• Strong interest in staying current with AI advancements and applying them to real-world use cases
