Principal / Senior Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will influence AI-driven initiatives and system resiliency within CE&S, partnering with Azure and product teams. You will work hands-on across design, build, and production deployment on strategic customer projects, shifting between whiteboard planning and coding to unblock production blockers. You’ll drive innovative tooling and practices, elevate platform reliability, and measure customer value through continuous feedback. This position blends technical depth with strategic impact, requiring collaboration with executives and engineering teams worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI and strategic technology innovation aligned with Microsoft priorities
• Lead development of internal tools and tooling strategy to enable product delivery
• Enhance platform resiliency and security through stakeholder collaboration and feedback loops
• Measure customer value with continuous feedback, metrics, and observability practices
• Partner with CxOs, engineering, and product teams to scope programs that boost customer value
• Oversee end-to-end delivery across complex scenarios with hands-on technical contribution

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field plus extensive engineering experience with coding in C/C++/C#/Java/JavaScript/Python or equivalent
• Breadth of cloud and Azure experience with hands-on GenAI and platform services expertise
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Fabric, secure end-to-end solution delivery, governance, IAM, encryption, monitoring, data governance, and automation
• Ability to operate in a highly customer-facing role with travel up to 50%
• Security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
