In this role, you will join a respected UK law firm’s Bristol construction team to handle a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. You will draft, negotiate, and advise on construction contracts across sectors, supporting projects from planning to dispute resolution. Responsibilities
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on standard and bespoke construction contracts (JCT, NEC, IChemE, IET, ACA)
- Handling a mix of contentious and non-contentious construction matters
- Advising clients across sectors including waste, infrastructure, higher education, health, and commercial property development
- Supporting clients through all stages of the construction process, from planning to dispute resolution
- Collaborating with developers, funders, investors, contractors and consultants
- Managing a varied caseload with opportunities to take responsibility for complex and high-value matters
- Working with colleagues across the firm to support commercial property transactions and major projects
Key requirements
- 2+ years’ PQE (or equivalent) in construction law
- Experience across contentious and non-contentious matters or willingness to develop in both
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Collaborative mindset and enjoyment of team-based work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
