Overview
In this role you will coordinate national maintenance planning, logistics and asset management to keep our rail and non-rail assets available and maintenance activities running smoothly. You will work closely with Regional Service Managers, depots, the Control Centre and customers to optimise resources, spares and throughput. You’ll drive efficiency, enhance asset availability and support peak-period operations across the country. This is a fast-paced, cross-functional role at a rail infrastructure specialist, offering a direct impact on service reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain national Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) plans for rail and non-rail assets in line with customer and contractual expectations
- Coordinate Mobile Fitter deployment with Regional Service Managers to maximise productivity and resource efficiency
- Act as central liaison between Regional Service Managers, Mobile Fitters, Depots, the Control Centre, customers and suppliers
- Coordinate spares and inventory to minimise shortages and avoid unnecessary emergency purchasing
- Support depots during peak periods to manage asset availability and inter-depot transfers
- Provide support to the Control Centre and breakdown teams during high-demand periods
- Monitor operational activity and use data to improve asset management, fitter productivity and maintenance delivery
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve inventory control, logistics efficiency and resource utilisation
- Build effective working relationships across the national operation to deliver reliable customer service
Key requirements
- Experience in rail, plant hire, equipment services or similar operational environments
- Experience using planning, scheduling or maintenance management systems
- Knowledge of service scheduling, resource planning, logistics or fleet and asset coordination
- Experience in an SLA/contract-driven environment with customer service requirements
- Experience in asset, inventory or spares management (advantageous)
- Strong Excel skills for data capture, analysis, and reporting
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
