Overview

In this Senior Knowledge Lawyer role, you’ll lead the Knowledge Management function within a top global law firm’s Bristol office. You will shape and deliver the firm’s KM strategy, support a global KM programme, and drive innovative knowledge assets and training for internal and client-facing teams. You’ll manage key knowledge assets, lead training initiatives, and partner with IT, BD and Risk & Compliance to deploy KM-driven projects. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, offering influence across jurisdictions and a focus on knowledge, technology, and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Drive firmwide KM strategy development
  • Support senior leadership in global KM programme delivery
  • Draft and maintain precedents, templates, forms, checklists, and other knowledge assets
  • Oversee legal training, webinars and podcasts for internal teams and clients
  • Liaise with clients to deliver legal learning and content solutions
  • Coordinate practice-specific KM projects to address needs
  • Monitor legal/regulatory developments to produce insights and briefings
  • Lead practice technology initiatives and promote adoption
  • Collaborate with IT, BD and Risk & Compliance on KM projects
  • Supervise and develop junior KM team members

Key requirements

  • Around 8 years PQE in Knowledge Lawyer/PSL or fee earner solicitor seeking KM role
  • Passion for knowledge management, innovation and legal technology
  • Strong analytical, research and drafting skills with attention to detail
  • Expertise in insurance law and litigation (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and concisely
  • Confidence operating at partnership level with professionalism and integrity
  • Ability to build strong relationships across teams and jurisdictions
  • Proactive, organized and self-motivated approach
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables within tight timeframes
