Power BI Development Senior Manager

Overview

As Power BI Development Manager, you will lead a team delivering enterprise reporting for Group Investment Management and shape analytics strategy. You’ll combine hands-on Power BI work with technical leadership to establish standards, governance and scalable solutions. You’ll partner with Data Engineering and business leaders to translate needs into effective dashboards and actionable insights. This role offers impact across investment planning and portfolio management with opportunities to influence reporting architecture and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Power BI professionals with coaching and clear priorities
• Manage the reporting roadmap, backlog and delivery commitments while sustaining service quality
• Collaborate with business partners to understand needs and provide practical solutions and recommendations
• Design, build and optimise Power BI dashboards, semantic models, DAX calculations and reporting architecture
• Partner with Data Engineering to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions from source to reporting
• Establish reporting standards, governance, testing approaches and release controls
• Resolve complex reporting and performance issues to improve usability, resilience and efficiency across the reporting estate

Key requirements

• Extensive hands-on Power BI experience with advanced DAX, Power Query (M), semantic modelling and performance optimisation
• Strong SQL and SQL Server knowledge, plus data warehousing, dimensional modelling and data transformation
• Experience designing and supporting scalable reporting solutions with governance, testing, security and release management
• Proven leadership of technical or analytics teams and their development
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and build confidence with senior decision-makers
• Experience in Agile delivery environments managing changing priorities and delivering business value
